Helen Fay Dovenspike, 84, of Hawthorn, died suddenly Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 20, 1927, in Kittanning, a daughter of Fred Nelson and Edna Fay (Fox) Lindeman.

On June 5, 1948, she married Clayton H. Dovenspike, and he preceded her in death Jan. 29, 2006.

Helen worked as a registered nurse at Brookville Hospital. She was a member of the Hawthorn Calvary United Methodist Church in Hawthorn.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy McClain and her husband, Bruce, of Brookville; two grandchildren, Brenton Sean McClain and his wife, Shonna, of Hinesville, Ga., and Briana Lynn Siegell and her husband, Joshua, of Smithtown, N.Y.; and three great-grandchildren: Kaden Mikhael McClain, Alexis Janett McClain, and Arabella Charlotte Siegell.

Also surviving is a sister, Margaret Cohen of Monroeville; and a brother, Fred William Lindeman of Fresno, Calif.

In addition to her parents and her husband Clayton, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Andrea J. McClain.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the funeral home with Pastor Jodie Smith officiating.

Interment will be in the Hawthorn Cemetery in Hawthorn.
