Joseph Horria Hon is the twin of my 3rd Great Grandfather, William Marion Hon. He is the son of William Hon & Sarah Darnall-Hon. He served in the Civil War on the Confederate side. Per the book "A NARRATIVE OF A HON FAMILY" page 73 it states as follows:

Joseph Horria Hon, Co., C., 5th Kentucky, Mtd. Inf., Pvt. Enlisted Oct. 26, 1861, Prestonburg, Kentucky. Muster Rolls: Dec. 31, 1861 to Apr. 30, 1862 - "Deserted" : Jan. 1863 "Prisoner of War taken at Powell Co., Kentucky. Sent to Vicksburg" Paroled at Camp Douglas, IL March 30, 1863 and delivered at City Point, VA. April 4, 1863. Captured at Red River, KY Dec. 26, 1862 (Name written Joseph H. Horn at times. He was on roll of Confederate Prisoners sent by Provost Marshall of Lexington KY to Vicksburg, MS for exchange Jan. 2, 1863. Also with the above inf: James Hon, Pvt, Co., H., 5 Reg. Capt. Hawkin's Co., KY. Inf. Muster roll dated at Sadleville, KY., Oct 22, 1862. "James was transferred from Co., I, 5 KY. Reg., 1862. Richard M. Hon, Co., I, 5 KY., Med. Inf., Pvt. (Original filed under Horn) Muster Roll Dec. 31, 1861 to Sept. 30, 1862. "Enlisted at Moccasin, Scott Co., VA." Sick in Hospital at Hoston Springs."
