Ruby "Maxine" Kautz, age 82 a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the First Freewill Baptist Church, Cushing. Rev. John Baumert and Rev. James Coffelt will officiate. Interment will follow at Euchee Valley Memorial Park, Cushing.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
Maxine was born on March 8, 1928 in Shamrock, Oklahoma to the late Elvin and Maude (Adams) Anderson. She grew up and attended school in Kendrick, graduating in 1946. Maxine married Edwin Ray Kautz on November 8, 1947 in Drumright. They made their home in Cushing their entire married life. Maxine was the City Clerk and Treasurer in Cushing from 1963 until her retirement in 1993. Maxine received the Payne County Bar Association's, "Liberty Bell Award" in 1981 for her outstanding community service. She loved square dancing for many years. Maxine also enjoyed crocheting, reading her Bible, spending time with her family and caring for her flowers. She was a Nascar fanatic and an avid Sooner fan.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 62 years, Edwin R. Kautz of the home, daughter Donna Beene and husband Don of Bristow, sister Pauline Beasler of Bethany, grandchildren Mike Starks Jr. and wife Annette of Cushing, Toni Vieyra and husband Paul of Cushing, Teri Niccum of Drumright, great grandchildren Brody and Bryce Starks, Brayden and Natalie Vieyra, Brenden and Landen Odle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters
