Born at Hedrick in Warren County, he was a life resident of the community and was married to Edythe Grace Moore in 1915. Mr. DeMotte was a member of Williamsport Methodist church, F&AM Lodge 38, Williamsport, and Williamsport Lions club, and was a Warren County jury commissioner.
Mr. DeMotte, who retired in 1957, had been in the insurance business since 1919. In 1935, he enlarged his business to include real estate and farm loans.
Surviving with his widow are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Pence of near Boswell and Mrs. Lorenz (Maxine) Brown of Williamsport; and a sister, Mrs. Etson (Lelia) Sheldon of St. Petersburg, FL. Mr. and Mrs. Brown left here Tuesday to go to Vaughn. The body will be sent to Williamsport.
Friends may call after 10 AM Saturday at Machledt funeral home, Williamsport. Services Sunday at 2 PM in Williamsport Methodist church, Rev. Arthur A. Schenck officiating; burial Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. The body will lie in state in the church for one hour before the service. Also surviving are five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Doris Walker.
