GEORGE DeMOTTE CALLED BY DEATH

WILLIAMSPORT, IN, Nov. 14, 1929 (Special) - George DeMotte, 67, serving his second term as trustee of Washington township, died at 7 o'clock this morning at the family home on Third street. He suffered a stroke last winter and since that time had been in failing health; he was confined to his home a little more than a week preceding his death.

Mr. DeMotte was a veteran teacher, holding positions in schools of Jordan, Steuben and Washington townships for 25 years. He also served for a number of years as Steuben township assessor, and later was Washington township assessor. He was a member of the Methodist church, and of the I.O.O.F. and Masonic lodges.

Surviving are the widow, [Minnie Flynn DeMotte]; a son, John of Williamsport; and a daughter, Mrs. Lelia Sheldon, a teacher at LaPorte. Funeral services will probably be held Sunday (Nov. 17), with internment in Highland Cemetery.
