SGT. STAGGS
Services for Sgt. Dorrie Ray Staggs, 26, Florence, Rt. 6, who died of injuries received in an auto accident while enroute from National Guard summer camp at Camp Shelby, Miss, were conducted today at 2:30 p.m. from Morrison-Elkins Chapel in Florence by Bob Harriman and Lawrence Williams. Burial was in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Full military honors were provided by the 115th Signal Battalion Headquarters Co. of the Alabama National Guard.
He was an office clerk with the National Guard Unit and attended Florence State University. He was a member of Glendale Church of Christ and BPOE Lodge 820. He was a native of Wayne, Mich., and had lived in this area most of his life.
Surviving are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie A. Staggs; a brother Gerald Dawson Staggs(Reva), Florence; paternal grandparents, Mrs. Mattie Staggs and C.L. Staggs, both of Summertown,Tenn,;Maternal grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Robb of Columbia, Tenn.

Dorrie was fond of Corvettes and antique autos. He was greatly missed by his family.
