She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a hard worker, Loving wife, Mother, grandmother, and a devoted servant of the Lord.
She was daughter of the late Earnest and Ida (Carter) Nance; wife of the late Earl Elder; mother of the late I. L. "Sonny" Elder; late daughter-in-law, Ruth (Moses) Elder; brothers, Thomas Nance, Clarence Nance; sister Naomi Wright..
She is survived by one brother, Johnny Nance of Decatur, TN; sisters, Bessie Holt of Decatur, TN, Edith Bahles of Arizona, Myrtle Bryant of Decatur, TN; grandchildren and spouses: Mary Colbaugh, Ricky and Dianne Elder, Sharon Ziegler and fiance Ronny Stephens, Danny and Mitzi Elder, Lonny and Suzanne Elder, all of Decatur, TN; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and her special family at Life Care Center of Cleveland. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2010 in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Lewis and Rev. Taylor Colbaugh officiating.
Interment will be in the Bethsadia Cemetery at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 21, 2010.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
