The End Came Yesterday Morning at the Presbyterian Hospital--Had Been Operated on for Mastoid--Mr. Norman Leaves a Large Family of children--He Came to Mecklenburg for Gaston--The Funeral To-Day.

Mr. George W. Norman, a well-known business man of this city, died yesterday morning at 3 o'clock, after an illness of several weeks. Death resulted from blood poison, following an operation for a mastoid. After a heroic struggle Mr. Norman answered the summons at the Presbyterian Hospital. The funeral services will be conducted from the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian church, at 4 o'clock, this afternoon. The pall bearers will be: Messrs. S. H. Youngblood, T. M. Shelton, S. H. Hilton, W. M. Crowell, W. J. Malone, Z. T. Smith, I. W. Durham and J. A. Russell.

Mr. George W. Norman was born in Gaston county 52 years ago. He married Miss Calwell Shields. He came to Charlotte 20 years ago and engaged in business and was very successful. He lived a quiet life and was a devoted husband, a loving father and a loyal friend.

Mr. Norman leaves a wife and 10 children, Mrs. T. C. Wilson, Messrs. Charles W., George E., and Frank and Misses Della, Lottie, Margaret, Lillian, Nellie and Mary Norman.

Mr. Norman was a man of wealth. His estate is valued at about $100,000. His life was insured for $10,000.
