Ruth Dale Lovill Alderman age 87 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Alderman was born on March 7, 1922 in Carroll County, Va. to John Burton & Ida Pearl King Lovill.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Robert Alderman, daughter Betty McCoy and son Charles Robert Alderman.

She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Dorothy Sue & William Orr of Galax, Va.; sons & daughter-in-law Douglas L. & Edith Alderman of Fallon, Nevada; Edwin Alderman of Galax, Va.; sister Nell Horton of Hillsville, Va.; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 21,2009 at 3:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Leo Phillips and Everett Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from two until three at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
