John L. Drummonds, 63, of Monroe, Mich. died
Monday, July 21, 1976, in Memorial Hospital Unit. He had been in poor health since 1972 and seriously ill three months.

Earle Little Funeral Home in Monroe was in charge of arrangements. Visitation was Monday evening. A prayer service was held Tuesday evening with the Rev. Linvel I. Meyers of the Primitive Baptist Church officiating.

The body was taken to the Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell, Tenn., where services were held Thursday July 24, 1975. Burial was in Drummonds Cemetery in New Tazewell.

The son of Elijah and Margaret (Wilson) Drummonds, John was born Aug. 10, 1911, in New Tazewell. He married Roxie A. Lynch Dec. 14, 1932 in New Tazewell.

Mr. Drummonds moved his family to Monroe in 1948. He was a papermaker for Union Camp Corp., retiring in 1973. He was a Member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife; a son, William H. of Phoenix, N.Y.; a daughter, Elgie (Roman) Grabitz of Monroe; two brothers, Callie of Morristown, Tenn., and Isom of New Tazewell,. four sisters, Mrs.Jake (Bertha) Drummonds of Monroe, Mrs. Herbert (Zora) McBee of Corrington, Tenn.,
Mrs. Arthur (Ruth) Hemry of Monroe and Mrs. Willis (Cretie) Atkins of LaSalle and two grandchildren. Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.


Note: John was first buried in Drummonds Cemetery, and then removed to St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe, Michigan. If there is a marker for him at Drummonds Cemetery, it would be a cenotaph and the correct burial or second burial location would be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe, Mi. Second location
