NILES--Mrs. Laura Gilbert, 89, of 2520 Yankee St., died at 11:05 p.m. (corrected time) Wednesday in the Paul Stephan Nursing Home after an extended illness.
Mrs. Gilbert was born Nov. 2, 1883, in Coloma. Her husband, Joseph, died in 1963.
She was the oldest member of the Niles Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Yankee Street Neighborhood Club.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ida Lewis of Coloma, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Pifer Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Bailey, a nephew, of Tipton, Mich., officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 tonight at the funeral home.
