Richard Franklin Brammer was born in Millersville, Lawrence County, Ohio on July 2, 1856. He married Nancy V. "Nannie" Blake on Nov 28, 1888, Cabell Co, WV, and was a school teacher by profession. Richard held a first grade life certificate, census enumerator, 1900, and served as President for the Cabell County Teachers Association for 4 years. He also was involved in the political arena serving in the House during the sessions of 1901, 1907, 1911, 1919, and 1928. In the 1929 term, he served on the Committee of Education. Richard Brammer is listed as a Republican and a Methodist.

Richard is buried next to his wife. And in the same plot is buried one of their daughters, an Elizabeth Brammer Swann. Another known daughter is Grace Brammer, born May 11, 1885, according to WV vital records. A possible match for Grace is Find A Grave Memorial# 3509092.

A recent inquiry to the Spring Hill Cemetery office discovered R.F. Brammer was accidently listed on the cemetery index as P.F. Brammer. Birth and Death dates confirmed they are one and the same.
