Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Pastor Charlie Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter AME Church Cemetery, Seale, AL. Visitation is today, July 20, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon., according to Taylor Funeral Home. Mrs. Newsome was born July 16, 1943 in Seale, AL to Leodis Thomas of Columbus, GA and the late John Daniels. Survivors other than her mother include two sons, Eddie (Linda) Newsome of Columbus, GA and Arthur Newsome of Birmingham, AL; two daughters, Bobbie Newsome and Dorothy Newsome, both of Columbus, GA; a stepson, Melvin (Emma) Newsome of Beauregard, AL; a stepdaughter, Barbara (Johnny) Vinson of Opelika, AL; one sister, Johnnie Mae Harris of Columbus, GA; 13 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
