Obituary: Funeral Mass for Mary Jane Murlowski, 83, who died on Sunday, April 2, 2006, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Holbrook. Burial will follow in the Holbrook Cemetery. She was born Feb. 7, 1923. Mary Jane had been a resident of the Holbrook Extended Care for more than 20 years. She had suffered much in her life, but her tribute to life was her faith in God and her belief in prayer. She touched many lives with those beliefs. Mary Jane loved to enjoy a good laugh and fellowship with her friends. She loved company, and always managed a smile and a greeting. Her fondest memories were of her father, Poland, her nursing, and the late Dr. Norton Freedman, whom she considered a dear friend before he passed away. She loved to serve and always wanted to help. She volunteered many hours at the Holbrook Senior Center and the Holbrook Extended Care over the years, and, in truth, there will never be another Mary Jane. She will be missed by those who knew her and who had become her extended family. Novel Owens Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
