Lawrence E. Gorman, 83, passed away August 27, 2010 in Ormond Beach, FL after many problems, including 100% disability for severe wounds incurred after 25 days in battle as a young marine on Iwo Jima. He retired in 1982 from New York State as a computer analyst. He is survived by his loving wife, Olive (MacDowell) of 63 years; his daughter and her husband, Linda (Gorman) and James Thomas of Palm Coast; and his son, Lawrence J. Gorman of New York City. Interment with military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a true patriot and a war hero. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , Memphis TN or your favorite charity.
