Married Dicey Mann on Jun 1, 1775 in Virginia. Several members of the Caldwell and Mann families migrated from southern Virginia to Kentucky after the Revolutionary War. The brother of Dicey Mann, named Francis, stated in his Revolutionary War pension application that he was in the midst of moving to Kentucky when the war began, so he stayed and fought in Virginia, delaying his move. Records show that none of these families moved to Kentucky until after the war.
