Fletcher (Staff) -- Funeral for Harvey Smith Jr, 37, will be at 2 pm [on] Saturday [28 Feb 1970] at the First United Methodist Church [of] Fletcher[, Oklahoma], with Rev. Phil Jones, pastor, officiating.

Burial, under the direction of Dalton-Robbins Funeral Home of Fletcher[, Oklahoma], will be in [the] Fletcher Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died of an apparent stroke [on] Wednesday night in Oklahoma City[, Oklahoma] where he has resided since 1960. He was a salesman.

He was born [on] Dec[ember] 24, 1932 in Dimmitt, Tex[as], and attended schools in Spring Lake, Tex[as. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1958 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his step-father and mother: Mr. and Mrs. Lester VanDoeren of Fletcher[, Oklahoma]; three brothers: Jimmy Smith of Dalhart, Tex[as], Jack Smith of...Lawton[, Oklahoma], and Homer Smith of...Lawton[, Oklahoma]; one sister: Mrs. George (Barbara) Rogher of Sterling[, Oklahoma]; three step-sisters: Mrs. Don Mullenix of Fletcher[, Oklahoma], Mrs. Juanita Rucker of Miami, Okla[homa], and Mrs. Bill Ott of Hereford, Tex[as].
