"Barbara A. Abel, 75, of 304 N. Broad St., died Sunday at Hamilton Arms Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a three-month illness. A lifelong Lancaster resident, Miss Abel worked 24 years in the assembly line at the former Schick Inc. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She also belonged to the Three Corner Club. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Daisy Mae Herr Abel. Surviving are a brother, Harold, Landisville; and three sisters: Lyda Getty, Leola; Florence, wife of Herbert Snyder, Lampeter; and Mary Jane, wife of Glenn Leighty, Lancaster."
