WILLIAM J. STITELER, 76, of Home RD 1, died Thursday, Sept. 23,1982, at his home in Rayne Township. A son of Clarence and Margaret Beck Stiteler, he was born June 28, 1906, in Smicksburg. Mr. Stiteler was a member of the Smicksburg Salem Lutheran Church. He had been associated with IUP as a painter and had lived all his life in Indiana County, the past 17 years at his present address. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Galentine Stiteler; two sons: Edward E., Houston, Tex. and Thomas W., Indiana RD 6; two stepsons: Wilbur E. McClelland, Kingsville, Tex. and Donald C. McClelland, Creekside RD; a daughter, Mary Beth Fetterman, West Brattleboro, Vt.; two stepdaughters: Mrs. James (Delores) Ruddock, Home RD 1, and Margaret L. Stiteler, Smicksburg; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Eva Ritchie. Aliquippa; Mrs. Dolly Stiteler, Indiana; Mrs. Lex (Jane) Neal, Hatboro. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Margaret Black Stiteler; and brothers Vernon, Laurie and Jay Stiteler. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today (Friday) and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Robinson-Lytle's, Indiana, where services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Pastor John Wood will officiate with interment in Smicksburg Cemetery.
