Rev. Herman Taylor Grizzle, 87, of Acworth, died Monday, February 7, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Wednesday afternoon in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Phillips, the Rev. Gerald McPherson, and the Rev. Glenn King officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Rev. Grizzle was born in Sand Mountain, AL but had lived in Acworth all of his life. He served his country in the US Army Air Force during WW II and retired from the Lockheed Georgia Corporation as a functional test mechanic after 34 years of service. Rev. Grizzle was an ordained minister for more than 50 years and had pastored several churches in Cobb and Bartow Counties. His favorite pastime was collecting and repairing antiques.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years (Married 8-25-1942)
, Mazelle McCoy Grizzle of Acworth; daughters, Judith (Bob) Visger of Cartersville, Janie (Ray) Bendock and Trudy (Mickey) Brown, both of Acworth, and Tracey (Richard) Weber of Cartersville; 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Gertie Gayton and Betty Cheatham, both of Acworth; several nieces and nephews;
