Blaine Arthur Church, 91, of Belpre, passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at Heartland of Marietta.

He was born March 21, 1919, in Monongalia County, W.Va., one of seven children of the late Charles Abraham and Ava Alice Weaver Church.

Blaine had worked as a truck driver for several years having worked for Independent Trucking and for several contract trucking companies for DuPont. He was a member of Mullen Memorial Baptist Church where he had been active for many years. He was an avid bowler and loved hunting and gardening. He lived an active life and spent several winters in Florida and Arizona.

Surviving Blaine are his children, Patricia Ann Scott and James of Belpre and Ronald Lee Church Sr. and Debra Ann of Veto; grandchildren, James Dale Scott, Michael Blaine Scott, Ronald Lee Church Jr., Charles Allen Church, Lukas Scott Church and Shayna Coleman Church; great-grandchildren, Anne, Abram, Eddie, Jimmy Jr., Alex, Abby, Walker and Ryder; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Church Sweet and Madelyn Church Branch, both of Belpre; and a special friend, Geneva Lynn of Belpre.

In addition to his parents, Blaine was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lulia Stevens Church; and four brothers, Arley, Willard, Glady and Karl Church.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Kent Lowther officiating. Burial will be at Rockland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.
