Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 at St. Marcus Catholic Church in Clear Lake for Donald J. Gohman, age 69, who died Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Joseph Vandeberg will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday at Dingmann-Arnold Funeral Home in Clear Lake and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donald was born Oct. 12, 1937 in Richmond to Andrew & Marie (Koetter) Gohman. Marie died in 1939 and Andrew married Loretta Kiffmeyer. Donald married Sharon Henkel on July 9, 1960 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church in Luxemburg and they have lived in Palmer Township for the past 30 years. Donald worked in plant maintenance for the St. Cloud Reformatory for 22 years, retiring in 1992. He also drove for the Guardian School Bus Company. He was a member of St. Marcus Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of St. Cloud; sons and daughters-in-law, Duane & Bonnie and Mark & Karie all of Clear Lake, and David & Kari of Brainerd; mother, Loretta Gohman of St. Cloud; sister and brothers, Bea (Mike) Schmidtbauer of St. Cloud, Jim (Linda) Gohman of Grey Eagle, and Ken (Kathy) Gohman of Clearwater; and fourteen grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Andrew; mother, Marie; and great granddaughter, Hannah Schuldt.
