Mrs. Kristi Hartz, one of the pioneer and beloved matrons of Manchester died at her home in that town of heart failure, Monday, December 2 at the mature age of 71 years.
She was born in Sigdal, Norway September 30, 1841 and was married there to Eimbert Hartz who died 20 years ago.
They came to America in 1897, locating in Manchester which was there after their home.
She is survived by eleven children, J.L. Hartz of this city, Mrs. G.O. Myran of Manchester with whom she resided: Mrs. G. Haakenson of Manchester, Mrs. O.J.Madson and Conrad Hartz of Hartland, Mrs. O.P. Evenson and Mrs. Andrew Johnson of New Richland, Mrs. M. Samurtson of Strassburg, Sask., Canada: Fred Hartz of Rochester.
Funeral services will be held at the home , and afterwards at the church, Saturday, December 6.
A good and true woman has passed beyond, and she leaves a large and worthy family and a large circle of friends who will ever hold her in fond remembrance.
