French "Pete" Williams

French "Pete" Williams, 92, Fairland, died Friday at his home.

Mr. Williams was born Aug. 10, 1903, the son of Newton and Harriet (Rush) Williams. He first married Evelyn West. On June 6, 1947, he married Margaret (McDonald) Williams, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 1989.

Mr. Williams lived in Fairland all of his life. He worked for International Harvester in Indianapolis. He was self-employed for many years with a milk route. Recently he worked for the Knights of Columbus in Shelbyville.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Shelbyville, Elks Lodge No 457, Woodmen of the World and the Fairland United Methodist Church.

Williams is survived by a daughter, Beverly Schloot, Martinsville, a stepdaughter, Jean Stewart, Greenwood; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 am Monday at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. The Rev. Gloria Means will officiate Carmony-Ewing Funeral Homes is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fairland United Methodist Chruch.
