Harris, Dies

Tom Harris, 75, a charter deacon in the Shawmut Baptist church, died suddenly Thursday, Aprol. 15, while out in his garden.

Services wer conducted Sunday from the Baptist church by the Rev. R. C. Howard, the Rev. W. M. Treadaway, and the Rev. Mr. Tanner, in the presence of many relatives and friends. Johnson and Company, in charge of arrangements, burial being in Shawmut.

Born in Troup county, Georgia. Mr. Harris had made his home in Shawmut since 1908. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Sybil Harris and Mrs. Ibera Price, both of New York City; and one son, Ernest Harris, of Shawmut.

Also six sisters, Mrs. Anna Lynch, of Atlanta, Mrs. Lizzie Vinson of Rome, Mrs. Eddie MeCollum of College Park, Mrs. John Tankersley of Langdlae, Mrs. Eula Akins of East Point; and one brother, Walter Harris, of Akron, Ohio.
