Obituary of George William Shaner

ROY - George William Shaner, 73, passed away Friday, July 14, 2006.

He was born May 15, 1933, in Wellsville, New York to William Eugene and Georgia Smith Shaner.

On August 30, 1958 George married Shirley Lorraine Adams of St. John's, Newfoundland, in Bolivar, New York.

He traveled throughout the world while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and in the U.S. Air Force.

He is a member of the Hill Air Force Base Chapel Community, a Mason and a member of the DAV.

George was a coin and stamp collector and enjoyed camping trips.

George is survived by his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Janet Shaner, Ogden; a son, Michael Eugene (Janell) Shaner, Hermiston, OR; three grandchildren, Logan, Sterling and Morgan Shaner; and a brother, Russell Eugene Shaner, Rochester, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family suggests donations be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America or Habitat for Humanity.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 17th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Friends and family may call Monday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
