DIES AT HOME OF SON IN BOLIVAR
Mrs. S. R. Shaner of Salem, Pa, Passed Away Saturday, Nov. 27. Aged 83 Years.
Mrs. Maria Fry Shaner, aged 83 years, of Salem, Pa., died Saturday, November 27 at 2 o'clock a.m., after a three day illness at the home of her son, A. L. Shaner of Bolivar.
She leaves to mourn her death six sons, A. L., Mark{sic} O., Lester N., Paul F. and Arthur C. Shaner of Bolivar, George E.{sic} Shaner of Salem, Pa., one daughter, Mrs. Mary Neely of Emlenton, Pa., one sister, Mrs. Betsy Stubble, aged 86 years, of Blairs Corners, Pa., fifty-seven grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.
The body was taken in Loop's hearse to her home at Salem, Pa., Sunday and the funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran church at Salem, Pa. Interment was made in the Salem cemetery.
Among the relatives from Bolivar who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Shaner, sons, Lester W. and Arthur W. Shaner, Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Shaner and sons, Claude and Warren, Lester N. Shaner and daughter, Mrs. Weldon Maxson, Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Shaner, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Shaner and son, Carol, Mrs. Nellie Best, Eugene Shaner, Willis Neely, Paul Neely and Mrs. Edith Hepler.

*Note1: Grandchildren Mrs. Nellie Bethsada (born Shaner) Best and William Eugene "Gene" Shaner were 2 of 4 children of Maria Fry Shaner's son, William Henry "Bill" Shaner (1860 - 1922) of Lamartine (Clarion County), Pennsylvania, USA, who predeceased her.
*Note2: Grandchildren Florence Edith (born Neely) Hepler, Willis Francis Neely, and Paul D. Neely were 3 of 7 children of Maria Fry Shaner's daughter, Mary Harriet (born Shaner) Neely of Bolivar (Allegany County), New York, USA.
