Services for Samuel Kenneth Acuff, 77, of Colorado City were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, at 22nd and Austin Street Church of Christ with Kerry Cain and Royce Clay officiating. Burial was in Colorado City Cemetery under the direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
He died Wednesday, January 23, 2002. He was born December 16, 1924 in Dodd City, Texas and had been a resident of Colorado City since 1964. He married Dorothy Ballard in Dallas on Februay 18, 1950. He entered the U.S. Army in 1948 and served two years. He and Dorothy then owned a grocery and furniture store in McKinney for twelve years prior to moving to Colorado City where he became the owner/operator of a dirt construction business.
Kenneth was a deacon at 22nd and Austin Street Church of Christ for 36 years.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sharla Brake and husband Bob of Lubbock, Bridget Crockett and husband Bruce of Del Rio; two sisters, Mary Tom Spurgin of Trenton, Texas and Zona Nobles of Colorado City; his six grandchildren are Ken, Brian, Lucas, Lane, Kristen and Amanda.
