LUFKIN -- Funeral services for B.W. "Chap" Hilton, 80, of Lufkin were held Thursday, Jan. 3, 2002, from the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. David Millner officiating
Interment followed in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Hilton was born Sept. 24, 1921 in Livingston, the son of Saphronia Johnson and Walter Carson Hilton.
He died Tuesday, Jan. 1, at his residence.
Mr. Hilton retired from the Timberlands Division of Champion International following 36 years of service. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater. Mr. Hilton was a prisoner of war and the recipient of a Purple Heart. Formerly residing in Center for 17 years, he had lived in Lufkin since 1963. Mr. Hilton was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lufkin.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Alton Eaton; sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Denise Hilton, and James and Vicki Hilton; six grandchildren, Stephanie Chunn, Heather Crustner, Kayla Hilton, Dee Dee Hamez, Steven Hilton and Richard Eaton; two great-grandchildren; brother, Howard Hilton; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.(edited)
