First Lady of Mexico. Carmen Romero Rubio was the second wife of Porfirio Díaz, President of Mexico. Romero Rubio served as the First Lady of Mexico for three decades, from Diaz taking office on December 1, 1884, until his resignation on May 25, 1911. She joined her husband in his exile to France in 1911. They lived in Paris and traveled together for several European countries.
