This officer, while crossing the level crossing at Aubin St. Vaast at or before 2:40 a.m. on the 22nd June, 1918, was struck by a west bound train, receiving injuries (lacerated right arm - amputation; lacerated skull, abrasion body and legs) from which he died at 8:45 a.m. in No. 59 Casualty Clearing Station, the same date.
