Leander Throgmartin, son of Ebeneazer and Margaret Throgmartin, was born April 14, 1878 near Fairview in Texas County and died Jan. 24, 1954 near Upton, making his age at time of death 75 years, 9 months and 10 days.
He was united in marriage on Dec. 11, 1898 to Cordelia Hutsell. To this union were born four children, two sons and two daughters. They are Mrs. Lola Baker, Bucyrus; Ivis and Cecil Throgmartin, both of the home, and Mrs. Allie Ackman, Bucyrus; also six grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
He united with the Freewill Baptist church several years ago and was a member at the time of his death. He spent his entire life in Texas County. He had been blind for the past two years.
