Helen (Briskie) Ammon, died on July 27, 2010 at Aaron Manor in Chester. She was the widow of William Patrick Ammon who passed away in 2003. Helen was born in Bridgeport on August 1, 1917 to Ludwig and Mary (Belinskie) Briskie. She graduated from Harding High School and was an executive secretary at Bridgeport Brass Co. and Avco Lycoming. She was an extraordinary wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered by many for her gentle and thoughtful ways. Helen is survived by her son, William P. Ammon Jr. of Guilford; her daughter, Janet Irving (Charles) of Essex; grandchildren, William Ammon (Liz) of Boston, Ted Ammon of Boston, Jamie Cantore (Marc) of N. Branford, Jessie Herman (Karl) and Carrie Rivera (Marcos) of Essex; sister-in-law, Rita Aiken of Clifton Park, NY; five great-grand children; nieces and nephews. She was prede-ceased by brothers, Theodore and Joseph Briskie and sister, Agnes Benedetto. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Prospect St., Essex at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 31st. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Westbrook. Contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimers Disease, 2911 Dixwell Ave., suite 104, Hamden, CT 06518. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Aaron Manor for the loving and outstanding care they provided Helen with for the past seven years.
