Lester Bussell was the only son and one of three children born to Sarah Tune and John Henry Bussell
He was Born in Missouri and enlisted in the Navy Sept. 22, 1922 and served as a naval officer for eight years until medical conditions forced his retirement in January 1930.
Although Lester married three times, the love of his life was Lois Lively whom he married Dec 3. 1928 in Amarillo Texas. He never got over her leaving him and he loved her until the the very end. Lester had only one child, a stillborn daughter with his first wife, Goldie.
Lester was a very thoughtful, deep and sentimental person who enjoyed photography and was always seen with a camera in hand. Precise and detailed as evidenced on the back of his photos, he was our proud "family historian".
He visited the family every 4th of July bringing a large bag of saltwater taffy and silver dollars for the kids and of course smoking his famous and fragrant cigars. Those family picnics were always something special to look forward to.
Lester was a very kind and special man and is deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He passed away Sept 26, 1982 not the 28th as his grave stone says.
Rest In Peace................
