Word has been received of the death of August Vergin, Sunday morning at 7 o'clock, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edison Jaques in Hammond.
The deceased was born in Germany and was 77 years of age. He came to Porter County 63 years ago from Wanatah.
Three sons and four daughters survive. They are: Richard and Harry of Boone Grove; Arthur of Calumet City; Mrs. Anna Jaques of Hammond; Mrs. Laura Rosenbaum of Hobart; Mrs. Alvey of Cavour, South Dakota; and Mrs. Pauline Feece of Hebron. One daughter Rose, is dead. Besides the children, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Theodore Warner (Werner) of Hammond and three brothers, Herman and Edward Vergin of LaCrosse and Fred Vergin of Bass Lake.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at one o'clock in Hammond and at 2:30 from the Lutheran Church in Kouts.
