Glen Allen Aslinger, 67, of Soddy-Daisy, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 17, 2008, after a lingering illness surrounded and embraced by his loving family.

He was of the Baptist faith. Allen was born Aug. 11, 1940, to Mildred Hinkle and Creed Aslinger.

He was preceded in death by his father, Creed; and uncle, Jabb Hinkle.

Allen graduated from Sale Creek High School and retired from DuPont after 34 years as a dedicated employee. He was an avid fisherman, gardener and loved sports.

Allen leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Fay Hineman Aslinger; mother, Mildred Aslinger; daughter, Lisa (Reggie) Lewis; sons, Steve (Vickie) Aslinger and Richard (Lisa) Aslinger; brothers, R.H. (Linda) Aslinger and Jerry (Sandra) Aslinger; grandchildren, Shae (Darla) Lewis, Christy (Kenny) Stanfield, Gina Aslinger, Brooke Aslinger, Alivia Lunsford, Miranda and Zachary Autwell; great grandchildren, Macie and Paige Stanfield and Jonah and Gabe Lewis along with brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of loving relatives and dear friends.

Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Darrell Winters and the Rev. Joe Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
