'Gene' Roberson of TEMPLE -- Funeral services for Thomas "Gene" Roberson, 71, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Donald E. Boesel officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Sheffield Funeral Home. Mr. Roberson died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, in Temple Hospital. He was born March 6, 1933, in Plainview where he grew up and graduated from Plainview High School. He moved to Temple in 1969 and owned and operated Temple Glass and Mirror for 35 years. He also had lived in Odessa. He was a member of the Optimist Club in Odessa and Temple. He married Clara Catlett on Feb. 8, 1953. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Roberson of Little River Academy and James "Jim" Roberson of Temple; two daughters, Cindy Elliott of San Antonio and Debbie Goode of Grand Rapids, Mich.; a brother, James Roberson of Austin; a sister, Bonnie Cooper of Hearne; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A brother, Don Roberson, died in January 2004. The family suggests memorials to First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or to the American Kidney Foundation.
