Graduating from Glen Burnie High School in 1959, she was an Administrative Assistant at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis until her retirement in 2004, with 35 years of service.
Her hobbies included reading, yard sales, the outdoors, and she was a motorcycle enthusiast. Janet was also a Navy football fan and attended many Army/Navy football games.
Janet is survived by her son Jeffrey Wingfield of Baltimore, MD; her daughter Robin Lyons of Pasadena, MD; her brothers Ben McLane and Howard McLane of FL; her sister Shirley Schmidt of Salisbury, MD; and her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephew; all of whom she enjoyed spending time with.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Carolyn Frank.
Graveside services were held on Thursday, July 22 at Glen Haven Memorial Park where Janet was placed to rest next to her parents.
