James O. Belshe, age 75, of Henley, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 27, 2010, at his home. He was born September 23, 1934, in Henley, a son of Omar Dewitt and Anna Mae Jones Belshe. Jim was united in marriage to Lois M. Heinrich, June 18, 1965, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown, and she survives at their home.

He was a graduate of Eugene High School. Jim served his country in the United States Army, receiving the Expert Rifle Commendation. He was a heavy equipment operator in the central Missouri area for most of his life. Jim was an active and faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown, a member of Operating Engineers Local 513 and an Endowment member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed working on old tractors, reading and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children and their spouses, Marla and Lynn Young of Russellville; Marcus and Tricia Belshe of Henley and Myra and Randy Hall of Holts Summit; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Ellen and Dr. Erwin F. Soell of Iowa Park, Texas; an uncle and aunt, Robert and Dorothy Belshe of Henley; three grandsons, Loren and Blake Belshe and Tristan Hall and three granddaughters, Taylor and Grace Young and Alexa Belshe, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Donald R. Belshe.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 1, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown with Rev. Warren Brandt officiating. Interment will be in the Spring Garden Cemetery, Route AA near Eugene. The family will receive friends from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Monday, May 31, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Spring Garden Cemetery, St. John's Lutheran Church-Stringtown or the American Cancer Society.
