Elcey Jane Walker was the daughter of Addison and Jane Carothers Walker. She married James M. Agnew on 14 Mar 1861, in Greene County, Missouri. (Marriage certificate says "Aley" Jane Walker. Her maternal grandmother's given name was Elcy.)

James and Elcey Walker Agnew had two children, James O. Agnew, listed as "Oscar J. Agnu" in Elcey's maternal grandfather's will, and daughter Martha.

Elcey Jane Agnew's father-in-law Samuel Agnew and mother-in-law Jane Hill Agnew, are also buried in Gibson-Porter Cemetery.

After Elcey's death at age 26, James Agnew re-married.
