Mrs. Zenna Steelman, 97, of Burnettown, SC, wife of the late William C. Steelman and daughter of the late P. Valcum and Martha Ennis Poe Cockerham, died Friday, October 31st, 2008.
Born in Mouth of Wilson, VA, she had been a resident of Aiken County, SC, since the 1970's. She retired from Burlington Industries as a Winder. Mrs. Steelman attended Mid-Valley Baptist Church.
Family members include a son, the late Clate Steelman, (Willine) Warrenville, SC; grandchildren, Sheila Smalley, (Danny) Aiken, SC, Keith Steelman, (Tina) Warrenville, SC, and Brian Steelman, (Marie) Warrenville, SC; great-grandchildren, Matthew Smalley,(Brandy) Stephen Smalley, Megan Smalley, Carrie Hicks, (Ricky) Dana Allen,(Perry) Clayte Steelman and Tyler Steelman ,great-great-grandchildren, Emma Allen and Will Hicks and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many friends, two of whom were thought of more like family, Marie McKinney and Elizabeth Cochran. She was also preceded in death by eight siblings. Mrs. Steelman was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 2nd, 2008, at 2 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Jim Kirk and Pastor Earl Satcher officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Matthew Smalley, Stephen Smalley, Clayte Steelman, Tyler Steelman, Ricky Hicks, and Perry Allen.
