John Fisher, 44, Hubbard farmer, died Saturday at a LaGrande hospital of severe injuries received October 30 when a jeep in which he was riding and the attached horse trailer plunged down a 1000-foot embankment near La Grande.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Ringo-Cornwell Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Lederach officiating. Burial was in Zion Mennonite Cemetery east of Hubbard.

Mr. Fisher was born November 16, 1914, at Hubbard and was a famer and drainage contractor. He was a member of the Elks Lodge at Salem.

He died of complication of internal injuries resulting from the accident as he and a hunting companion, Donald Kauffman, 28, of Canby drove along a narrow, snow-covered road near Mt. Emily in a jeep towing a horse trailer. The trailer skidded, dragging the jeep and its occupants over the edge of a 1000-foot embankment. The two men were helpless for four hours until help reached them.

Mr. Fisher is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rita Fisher of Hubbard; a daughter, Jean Fisher of Hubbard; four sons, Steven, Allen, Johnny and Casey Fisher of Hubbard; two brothers, Joel Fisher of Hubbard and Robert Fisher of
Donald; five sisters, Mrs Ruth Neuschwander of Hubbard, Mrs. Rhoda Palmer of Vale, Mrs. Hazel Hooley of West Linn, Mrs. Josephine Hagen of Eugene, and Mrs. Joann Horstman of Redondo Beach, Cal.
