He was born in Summersville, W.Va. on May 22, 1949 son of Alta Rose (Jarvis) Yoak of Akron, Ohio and the late Howard J. Kelly.
Larry was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He enlisted on October 14, 1968 and was honorably discharged on November 5, 1970. He received the Pruple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. After his discharge from the Army he worked as a carpenter in the construction industry.
Besides his mother; he is survived by on brother, Dennis Kelly and his wife Cathy and their son Greg of Kent, Ohio; one sister, Darlene Rogers of Akron, Ohio; one step brother, Wayne Yoak of Akron, Ohio; his soul mate, Mindy Perkins and his Goddaughter, Kaitlyn Perkins both of Norwich, Conn.
In a press release from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall Center, Private First Class Kelly will have his name added to the Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. on May 13th, 2012...
