A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Chapel of MorningStar Lutheran Church, 12900 Idlewild Rd., Matthews, NC with The Reverend Timothy H. Glenham officiating. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will follow the service at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
Mr. Huggins, a native of Troy, AL, was the son of the late William James and Margaret Reeves Huggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty-two years, Catherine Atwell Huggins; son, James David Huggins; and by his faithful companions of 18 years, Bozo and Leroy. A former resident of Montgomery, AL, and Monroe, NC, he was a self-employed sales representative in the textile home-furnishings industry. For a number of years he had been associated with Fabrics, Inc. - Alagold Corporation of Montgomery, AL and from 1972 until 1989 was with Perfit Fit Industries of Monroe, as a salesman in the southeastern U.S. He was also a former Alabama State Trooper. Mr. Huggins was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Korean War and he was a member of the American Legion and the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
