Born April 16, 1930, in Charleston, he was the son of the late Buck Mitchum and Ella Deas Mitchum.
Jack was a Master Carpenter and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, long rides through the Francis Marion Forest and vacationing in the mountains. His favorite times were spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Mitchum; his children, Rhonda L. Campbell of Awendaw, SC, Garner Mitchum, Furman Mitchum and Billy Mitchum all of Huger; four sisters, Ena Fuller, Lee, Mary, and Nollie; half brother, Tommy Wyndham of Mt. Pleasant, SC; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two of his children, Elizabeth L. Mitchum and Justin L. Mitchum.
Interment was in Apple Old Field Cemetery, Huger.
