Osage---Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pettit home in charge of the Rev. Stiles Lessly of the Osage Congregational church for Alvah N Pettit, 85, who died in Haynes City, Fla., Sunday.

He came to Osage in 1872. In 1912 he went to Florida as a representative of the Interlocken Land Investment company and he built the town of Dundee, Fla. He spent his summers in Osage and his winters in Florida.

Surviving are two children, Claude Pettit of Osage and Mrs. Lisle W. Smith of Hayes City, Fla.; two brothers, B. H. Pettit of Verndale, Minn, and J. C. F. Pettit of Kankakee, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. E. P. Allen of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Nettie Pettit Westler of California; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Burial will be in the Osage cemetery.
