Arthur E. (Junior) Gaylor, 59, of Roanoke, Va., died on Friday, June 18, 2010. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Smith; and a sister, Juanita Paulson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a son, Jay E. Gaylor; his friend, Suzi McKee, of Bedford; stepdaughter, Mary, of Roanoke; grandson, Nathan Gaylor, of Vinton; father, A.E. Gaylor Sr., of Roanoke; step father, Jesse Smith and wife, Peggy, of Roanoke; sisters, Pat Willard and husband, David, Sonya Frazier and husband, Larry, of Roanoke, and Frances Robertson, of Roanoke; brother, Jesse C. Smith, of Salem; special aunt, Claudette Hackett and husband, Paul, of Elliston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Junior will be greatly missed by all who loved him. May he rest in peace. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Roanoke Rescue Mission. A Memorial Service will be conducted 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. Paul Hatfield. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home & Crematory, 540-366-0707.
