Richard D. "Buster Hodge, 74 died Sunday, Feb. 16, in Wayne Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

The Wayne County native was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the Pipefitters Union Local No. 368.

He is survived by his wife, Olene Kicklighter Hodge of Odum; three daughters, Donna Cathey of Jesup, Krista Hodge of Odum and Sherry H. O'Gorman of Summit, NJ; two sisters, Grace H. Mikell of Screven and Johnnie H. Hayes of Jesup; three brothers, D.M. Hodge Jr. of Baxley, Joe Hodge of Valdosta and Fred G. Hodge of Lilburn; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb 17, at Gordon-Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carl Ledbetter and Dr. Aubrey Alsobrook officiating. Burial with full military rites was in the Odum Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Steve Kicklighter, Spencer Mikell, Robert Mikell, Jack Sutton, Mike Kicklighter and Billy Hodge.

Gordon-Harrison Funeral Home was in charge.
