ARLINGTON NAT'L CEMETERY / COLUMBARIUM: Court # 5, Section: 5-N2, Row: 7, Site: 1 ---

Fred was my step-father ~ he was Famous to me.

After his widow / my mother (Eleanor Hingular Kositch Kapinos) died in 2002, I carefully placed each of their cremains into a crypt at Arlington National Cemetery -- across the Lane from where are buried the victims of the 9-11-2001 Pentagon tragedy --

FOREVER my Family & I remain grateful to the Volunteer find-a-grave photographer who posted the beautiful image of the name-plaque that was placed on the crypt door of their final resting place after their burial ceremony.

In Army service, my "Pop" was known as "Kapi -- after WW II he earned a Military Honorable Discharge ~ U.S. Army Staff Sargent -- Automotive Mechanic 014 -- Good Conduct Medal ~ American Theatre Ribbon ~ Victory Ribbon ~ ASR Score = 53

~ Fred also drove commerical 18-wheelers [for Wilson Freight Forwarding -- NJ to Mass.] accident-free - for the combined distances of more than 2 million miles.

Prior, as an omnibus (bus) driver for New Jersey Transit he served citizens of Bergen County during the 1940s. (New Jersey Transit passenger train cars & buses were formerly identified as "Public Service ... owned by the citizens of New Jersey").

~ After retirement, Fred was a Security Officer with NYC's Waldorf Astoria - ensuring the safety of performing celebrities within NYC's world-famous hotel, The Waldorf Astoria. He'd escort each Star from their hotel suite to the stage and return them, safely, to their suite. Popular Stars of the 20th Century such as: Peggy Lee, Joel Gray, and many more.
