Last Rites Held Wednesday for Isaac H. Hickman

Last rites for Isaac H. Hickman, almost 78, a resident of Cooper for 50 years, were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. D. H. Bonner of Athens, formerly of Cooper, assisted by the Rev. Perry E. Jones, pastor of Bethel Baptist Mission, and the Rev. D. W. Nicholas, pastor of Cooper Christian Church. Mr. Hickman, who had been ill about two weeks died early Tuesday morning at a Paris hospital.

A large group of Cooper public school children followed to his last resting place a man with whom they were well acquainted through purchases at the little school supply store which, with his wife, he operated near the school the past few years.

Survivors besides his wife, the former Emma Jane Whitlock, are two sons, E. H. Hickman, operator of the Cooper Motor Company, and Eugene Hickman of Eastland; four grandchildren, Elmer Joe, Edna Ruth, and John Hickman of Cooper and Gay Hickman of Eastland; and a half-brother and half-sister, John Hickman and Miss Daisy Hickman both of Huntingdon, Tenn.

Serving as pallbearers were E. J. McKinney, Joe Scott, Wade Bledsoe, Goebel Templeton, Weldon McClanahan, and C. L. Anderson.
